No. 13: Fuel Problems 3
Sometimes all it takes to clog up the fine jets on your carburetor and cause an inconvenient breakdown is the minutest piece of grit which can find its way into even the cleanest of petrol tanks. The original solution was to fit internal filters into the pumps and carburetors themselves, but sometimes these prove inadequate. Austins occasionally need a little extra help in this direction, so that is why it is a good idea to invest in some fine metal mesh filter material which can be cut to size, rolled into thin tubes and with the ends bent over can be inserted into the metal fuel pipes. The petrol being extremely volatile will easily find a path through this additional obstruction but the rogue grit is stopped dead in its tracks.Print this | Send this | Hits: 12330 |
